Liberty of London - Liberty & Co - London

The business was founded by Arthur Lasenby Liberty in 1875 to sell ornaments, fabrics (for which it became specially famous) and miscellaneous objets d'art from Japan and the Far East. Liberty & Co first catered for an ecletic mix of popular styles, but then went on to develop a fundamentally different style closely linked to Art Nouveau and the Aesthetic movement of the 1890s. The company became synonymous with this new style, to the extent that in Italy, Art Nouveau became known as the "Stile Liberty".
The shop sells up to date fashions, cosmetics, accessories, gifts, etc. In addition to its homewares and furniture.
Liberty has its own team of window dressers and is known for imaginative and often surreal window displays, especially at Christmas.
Since 1988, Liberty has had a subsidiary in Japan which sells Liberty branded products in leading Japanese shops.
It also sells Liberty fabrics to international and local fashion brands with bases in Japan.

Mixed Emotions

Mixed Emotions
by Jamie Nelson

I feel so diffident in your presence,
Your confident playfulness drips all over me
You played with me like a little boy
Would play .... You have spiraled my emotions
I sit here speechless ..... First you smelled my hair.
I looked at your little soft body
Your innocence concealed by others
But blaring loud in my ears as the
80's music further enticed my need for
summer love
Your weariness shows in your dark
Puppy eyes .... your life, your experience
your hurt, carefully put away. I reach out to you
To embrace you, to let you know I care
More than anyone ever could. I touch your
soft skin. Our bodies fit perfectly as we embrace
Like two perfectly crafted puzzle pieces.
If only I could kiss you passionately,
Without hesitation. Without any of the thoughts
of entangled relationships.
Our hearts both contain so much complexity
Our pasts sickly warped .....
But the noise of the silent summer
Molds our problems into one shared love. It seems that to you it
is all so superficial, and it saddens me to
know I love you from the deepest hole in my
Heart. You are beautiful, innocent, my little
Boy. We long to play, frolic, and never grow up.
Yet we are drawn together by our soft lips craving for
fulfillment. Longing to be held and loved .... But to you
Really feel more, do you hold that capacity to love
As deeply as I do ? .... No you are just a little boy, but I am
Just as innocent, so maybe you do love me
As I love you. Your summer love. I crave your
Innocence. Your pillow lips still linger on my neck
You have made me feel so giggly and bubbly inside
Perhaps I don't have to grow up. Perhaps this hope
That you have given me can last a few months, or until
we see each other once again. I feel so happy, so passionate,
so optimistic. How could you do that to me? What
An incredible aura you give off. But perhaps I interpret your
Flirtatious gestures as more than they are. But you kept me to
yourself. You took authority and told the swarming boys
around me to leave me alone ..... For I belonged to you
That's what you said. Your little hand dangled in the air,
waiting for me to come to your side. Yes, you indicated
you need for me, but there is that chance that you
wish for something in the shallow waters. But whatever my contortions
of your feelings may be, you've allowed me to dream of love once again.
But the fear of hurt lies in the background, as I know
You aren't strong, confusion lurks in your soft eyes.
Despite your problems, I love you and you have made
me feel truly overwhelmed. Truly happy. Truly full of
Wholeness and love. Let's snuggle. Smile with me
Tickle me and make me
Giggle!

Colette Paris super-cool shop

Colette Paris is the most stylish & cool boutique in Paris, named after the great French writer, Colette is a swank citadel for a la mode fashion. It buzzes with excitement and organized chaos.

Ben Wilson chewing gum man

Artist Ben Wilson produces miniature masterpieces on blobs of chewing gum littering the pavements in North London.

From a distance, he could be homeless or a drunk - his coat is spattered with paint - but as you near, you see that he is painting in enamels, with great delicacy, a picture on the discarded gum that litters urban pavements.
Romantic or eccentric, you may think, but surely no challenge to public order. It helps that Wilson is softy spoken, gentle, and clever enough to ensure that he is not breaking the law. He paints on the gum, not the pavement, and you can't be charged with criminal damage to litter. Unlike the graffiti artist, Banksy, who has had to remain anonymous or face criminal charges, Wilson wants to connect his public art with people.

To my dear and loving husband

To my dear and loving husband
by Anne Bradstreet

If ever two were one, then surely We.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can in no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold I pray.
Then while we live, in love lets so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

" I want to create a kind of market where various creators from various fields gather together and encounter each other in an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos : the mixing up and coming together of different kindred souls who all share a strong personal vision"

Quiet Emotions

Quiet Emotions
by Judy Burnette

I always wanted more from you
than you were willing to give;
So now we have gone our separate ways
each with different lives to live.

The bond will always be there
the friendship always intact;
But the time for us has come and gone
and the pages of time, you can not turn back.

I will always be a friend to you
and wonder how you are;
The smiles and laughter I will remember
and our fights have become painless scars.

Sometimes on those busy days
when you have a thousand things to do;
Please let me glide slowly through your mind
and spend some time with you.

In that quiet moment
when you are surprised to find me there;
Just remember even with the distance between us
I am still someone who cares.
